Best Life (Coach) Newsletter #002
February 7, 2023
It is already February?!?! Ooofff.
So far the year isn’t going quite as planned. It’s not just us, right?!
The one thing we are SUPER excited about though is getting this bi-weekly newsletter out there so we can help you grow your coaching biz.
This week we’re talking about differentiating yourself in the crowded coaching market, how to keep your client at the center of discovery calls (& land more sales!), and leveraging AI in your biz.
Let’s dive in!
~ Sarah
1) Bring all of you (Sarah Mae & Dasha Dare)
How are you standing out in the crowded and competitive coaching market? While it might seem like a good idea to follow in the footsteps of traditional coaches, let me tell you – you have something special to offer! By incorporating your unique background, skills, and experiences into your coaching practice, you can set yourself apart and attract clients who value your one-of-a-kind perspective.
Take Dasha Dare (dashadare.com), for example. Dasha is a coach and photographer who has combined her two passions to create a truly unique offering. By doing so, she’s not only differentiated herself from other coaches but she’s also tapped into a new market and has attracted a growing client base.
What do you already bring to the table? If you have a background in a specific industry, you could offer specialized coaching services to individuals in that field. Or, if you have a passion for art, you could incorporate creative visualizations into your coaching sessions. The key is to leverage your unique strengths and offer clients something truly special.
Action: Take some time to think about your skills, interests, and experiences. How can you incorporate these into your coaching practice to create a truly personalized and differentiated experience for your clients?
2) Listen First, Sell Later (Steph)
You’ve put so much effort and passion into creating an offer that your clients will love, and you’re eager to share all the details with potential clients the moment you get on the call.
🐎 Hold your horses! 🐎
Before you dive into your pitch, take a step back and give your client the chance to share and be heard. By doing so, you’ll show them that you understand their needs and build rapport from the get-go.
Think about it – wouldn’t you rather work with a coach who takes the time to listen to your concerns and shows genuine interest in helping you, rather than someone who jumps right into a sales pitch? By giving your prospect a taste of what a real coaching session with you would be like, you’ll give them a sneak peek into the transformation they can expect from working with you.
So, when you get on that call, take a deep breath, listen to your prospect, and show them that you care. Trust me, by taking this first step, you’ll set the stage for a successful conversation and increase the likelihood of them saying ‘hell yes’ when you present your offer.
Action: Before every coaching call, prepare yourself mentally and physically to listen actively and empathetically to your prospects. Make a list of open-ended questions that will help you understand their problem and their needs. This can include questions like:
• What led you to seek coaching at this time?
• Can you describe your current challenge in detail?
• How do you envision your life after resolving this issue?
By taking the time to listen and understand your client’s needs, you’ll build a foundation of trust and show them that you’re truly invested in helping them achieve their goals.
3. Leverage the power of AI (Sarah Mae)
Have you noticed the buzz around AI lately? Everywhere you turn, you’re hearing about “ChatGPT”. As a coach, you may be wondering what this all means for you.
I have good news, AI isn’t just another thing to add to your never-ending “to learn” list. In fact, models like ChatGPT are surprisingly easy to use and will save you so much time in the long run.
With ChatGPT, you can generate custom content like email drafts, social media ideas, and coaching materials in a snap. And, you can use it to research and acquire knowledge, freeing up more time for one-on-one coaching sessions with your clients. Goodbye to hours spent researching and creating materials, HELLO to more personalized and efficient coaching.
While some might be intimidated by this new technology, I’ve been using it to make my content production process faster, more efficient, and more engaging. I even wrote a blog post, Effortlessly Generate Content: 4 Ways to Use ChatGPT for Life Coaches, that is worth checking out if this interests you!
Action: Give ChatGPT a try and see how it can help you streamline your content production, research, and knowledge acquisition.
