Our Top 6 Ways How to Get Coaching Clients Online

Join an Online Community

One great way how to get coaching clients online is to join an online community where your ideal client already is. A great place to start are Facebook groups. Search for groups that your potential clients would be in and join them. It’s a lot more effective to go where your potential clients are than to try to find ways to make them come to you. When you join a new community make it a point to be an active member. You can do this by joining in the conversations or starting your own. Make sure you show up regularly and help out where you can. Remember, it’s always better to give more than you receive.

(Be careful about broadcasting your service or offer to other members. Make sure you read and follow the rules of the group.)

Write a Guest Blog

Another great way how to get coaching clients online is to write blogs. Search some questions your ideal client might have that pertain to something other than the need for a coach. See what comes up. When you find a good answer that aligns with your offer reach out to the owner of the website and offer to write write a guest blog on a mutually beneficial topic. Sharing helpful content with your ideal audience is a great way to get your name out there and might lead to other future partnerships.

Post on Social Media

Where does your ideal client spend their time online? Go there and start showing up. Whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, or some other platform – go where your audience is and share things that are relatable and things that can help them. When you show up regularly people will become accustomed to hearing from you and eventually

Host a Podcast

Do you listen to podcasts? Chances are your audience does! Telling your audience what you think is a great way to elevate your status as a thought leader in your space.

Be a Guest on a Podcast

You don’t have to start your own podcast to have your voice be heard. Look up a few podcasts that are already speaking to your audience and ask if you can be a guest. Give them a few ideas about what you’d like to talk about and see if they are willing to collaborate. Many podcasters are open to having guests on their shows. This allows you to build your audience by leveraging someone else’s.

Start a Newsletter

One of the best and easiest ways how to get coaching clients online is to start collecting email addresses from people who show interest in your service or offer. Then regularly send your list emails about something meaningful related to your business. Keep it simple. You can tell a story, share a less you learned, or share something that made you laugh. The goal is to stay in touch with your audience and show them who you are.

At the end of each email make sure you give the reader a clear next action. It could be that you ask them a question and tell them to reply to your email. It could also be to book a 30-minute intro call with you to learn more about what your offer.

Staying in touch and reminding your audience how you can help them is a great way to grow your business.

So far we’ve been over 6 ways how to get coaching clients online. In writing this article we want to make sure that we mention this one important things NOT to do:

Beware!

There are a lot of programs out there that promise to deliver seven figures a month and only 5 minutes of work a day. Watch out for these scams. (Yes, we called them scams!) There is no such thing as a “magic system” that’s one size fits all. It simply does not exist. Do not waste your money.

It takes time and effort to succeed. (If it didn’t, would it even feel worth it?)

And one last thing… jumping straight into running ads is also a bad idea. They can be very effective but you want to have your other strategies in place first. Once you know that your efforts are resonating with your audience then you can advertise them at scale.

When it comes to figuring out how to get coaching clients online there are numerous ways to go about it. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list and one size does not fit all. However, these strategies do fit most. Do you have other ways how to get coaching clients online that you’d like to share? Tell us about it on our Instagram.

Until next time – Happy Coaching!
